Ontario Society of Artists Open Juried Exhibition The Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) invites all Canadian artists to apply for our 2024 Open Juried Exhibition. This is an annual exhibition of the OSA with the purpose of promoting the best art that Canada has to offer. The OSA is Ontario’s oldest and longest running Art Society, with a long history of excellence. The Exhibition Space: 150 King is a beautiful, open space with the advantage of very high foot traffic in downtown Toronto during the peak summer tourist season. It is located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, in the main lobby of 150 King Street West. There is plenty of street exposure to the exhibition through large windows. The gallery sits next to a busy entrance to PATH (the largest underground shopping district in the world) and the Toronto subway. Artwork is exhibited on large 4' x 8' (121.92 cm x 243.84 cm) panels spread throughout the gallery. There are dedicated security guards in the space. The Exhibition will be held June 1-July 31, 2024 at 150 King Street West, Toronto. An opening reception will be held on June 6, 2024 at 150 King St W. Our Jurors: Liza Zhurkovskaya is better known as the Curator on the Go. Liza is well known in the Canadian Art Scene. Liza is a Toronto-based Art Curator & Art Advisor. For more than eight years, Liza worked directly with corporate and private clients to acquire original art and has brought hundreds of artworks to the public eye. She currently runs her own online gallery (Kefi Art Gallery), is a sales and art consultant at Bau-Xi Gallery and an independent art consultant. She also has her own art podcast. Blake Fletcher and his dad, Mark Fletcher, are the faces of Cloud Gallery in Orillia, Ontario. “At Cloud Gallery, we focus on supporting artists in growing their art practice by building a relationship that allows for increased creative time and energy. For artists, Cloud is a partner that drives sales, financial and ultimately, artistic success.” The Gallery has an impressive online presence and has received extensive media coverage, including being highlighted in the Globe & Mail. “Our mission is to unleash the power of art for our clients to energize and beautify their spaces in a way that adds joy every day.” cloudgallery.caMarissa Sweet is our OSA member Juror. Marissa is a passionate and accomplished artist whose deep connection with nature is evident in her stunning landscape paintings. As an elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists, Past President of the Society of Canadian Artists, and an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and East Central Ontario Art Association, Marissa has solidified her position as a prominent figure in the Canadian art community. The exhibition is open to all Canadian Artists. We welcome all manner of 2D and 3D visual art (drawing, printing, painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture). Please note the finishing specifications and submission details listed in more detail below. Arrangements can be made for receiving and returning shipped artwork. Artists submitting their applications can choose to continue exhibiting with helloart after the OSA exhibition. It's FREE for artists to sign up and exhibit their work with helloart. To learn more, visit helloart’s FAQ page. Artists who choose not to continue with helloart can request to have their profiles deleted after the OSA exhibition. helloart is a fully secure, fully insured organization that will not share your information for any purpose. Submission Details: Submissions are limited to a maximum of TWO works from each artist. All submissions must be digital. All images submitted must be in .jpg format, with a maximum of 1080 pixels on the longest side. More details are with the entry form. No in-person or physical submissions will be accepted. All submissions must be the original work of the submitting artist, and completed after 2022. No derivatives or copies are eligible. Works previously exhibited in other OSA juried shows are not eligible. Critical Dates: Submissions close Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 12 midnight. Notifications to successful participants by email May 13, 2024 Details for drop off, opening reception and pick up dates will be sent in the acceptance email. Only successful applicants will be notified. Artwork to be delivered to a secure storage facility (located northwest of Bloor St and Lansdowne Ave) between May 14 and May 30, 2024. The precise location and access details will be provided to successful participants. Opening Reception at 150 King St. West, Toronto on June 6, 2024 Exhibition closes July 31, 2024 Art is to be picked up at the storage facility within two weeks of the end of the exhibition (July 31). Finishing specifications: All works must be completely dry and ready to hang or display. All accepted two-dimensional works must be ready to hang with D-rings OR multi-strand picture wire. Three dimensional works must be supplied with a suitable plinth for display. Hanging work must not be larger than 40 inches (101.6 cm) in width, and 72 inches (182.88 cm) in height. It must not weigh more than 20 lbs. (9.07 kg). Work selected for the exhibition must be as submitted for jurying, or it will be disqualified. Work may be for sale. If it is not for sale, please mark clearly. OSA will take a 20% commission on the sale of each artwork. No other commissions will be charged. No entry may be removed from the exhibition until the final pick-up date. Other Terms and Conditions The decision of the jury is final. By submitting to this exhibition, you agree to allow reproduction of your digital files for educational, publicity and archival purposes, unless we are informed otherwise in writing. You agree that you will not be receiving any payment for your participation in this exhibition. You also give the OSA permission to communicate with you via e-mail about this and future events. What is helloart? OSA has partnered with helloart to manage the application and process of this exhibition. helloart is a Canadian company that partners with CRE (commercial real estate) to showcase local artists. helloart’s mission is to provide a platform for artists to exhibit and sell their work. With over 800 artists and 50 exhibiting spaces nationally, helloart is Canada’s largest CRE exhibitor. All artworks chosen for the exhibition will be dropped off at helloart’s secure facility in Toronto, and picked up from there. helloart will deliver, hang and take down the artworks. All work is fully insured for this process. There is plenty of parking available at the storage facility. Submissions are limited to a maximum of TWO works from each artist for OSA. The helloart artist profile page will indicate more artworks are needed to qualify for exhibitions, but this does not apply to the OSA exhibition. Sales: helloart will create a label for each artwork with a QR code that can be used to contact them regarding sales. This information will be passed along to the OSA to be shared with the artist. Work may be for sale. If it is not for sale, please mark clearly. OSA will take a 20% commission on the sale of each artwork. helloart will not take a commission. |
Connexions Visuelles
Digital Exhibition
Open to French-speaking professional artists living in Ontario.

As part of the Connexions Visuelles project supported by the Ontario Arts Council and Canadian Heritage, Voix Visuelle in collaboration with the Temiskaming Art Gallery invite artists living in Ontario to submit a proposal for a digital arts exhibition which will take place in each of the two galleries.

The successful applications will be chosen by Cesar Forero, exhibition curator, in consultation with the directors of the two galleries Melissa La Porte and Shahla Bahrami.
SUBMISSION OF FILES:
All works must be original , less than two years old and have never been exhibited in either exhibition venue (Voix Visuelle and the Temiskaming Art Gallery).
The files must be sent by email in a single PDF file with the title your Last Name_First Name, no later than Saturday May 4 to the following address:
