Cause and effect are seemingly simple concepts, and yet the truth is we construct and interpret them through cultural, religious, scientific, and a myriad of other filters, rather than see them as objective laws behind the veil of sensory, mental, and metaphysical phenomena. These filters undercut our quest for objective understanding while at the same time underpinning the way we find or attribute meaning to the phenomena we encounter, letting us form frameworks that serve as a means of conceptual accommodation.
